Historical Influencers – creating social media accounts for famous people from history
It’s time to bring traditional “living history museum” experiences in to the 21st century. What might Meriwether Lewis or Cleopatra’s Twitter feeds look like? If you tuned in to Marco Polo’s YouTube channel, what sort of “Lives” would you find? Can you picture the selfies Rosa Parks or William Shakespeare might have shared on Instagram? How many followers would Mozart have on TikTok?

In this session, we’ll share ideas for how your students can put themselves in the shoes of influencers from any era & express their ideas through social media platforms that are popular today. Walk away with resources you can put to use in your intermediate, middle school, or high school classroom in a wide variety of units.

The Gifted Twice Exceptional (2e) Learner: Identifying Learning Complexities and Resources for Success
Passcode: #Gam2022

Gifted and general educators, parents, and caregivers often struggle with the complexities when identifying the characteristics of twice-exceptional (2e) students. It can be difficult to identify who in the building can provide support or assist in locating resources. Finally, it is vital to learn how to integrate technology to support 2e learners, and how to create instructional materials for 2e learners to enhance learning in inclusive classrooms. Participants will be able to:
(1) Identify common characteristics of twice-exceptional (2e) students and be able to locate resources and people in their building for support; (2) Integrate technology and instructional strategies to support twice-exceptional (2e) students in inclusive general and special education environments; (3) Implement instructional strategies with 2e students in the classroom in order to help facilitate their intuitive qualities, celebrate creativity, and develop resilience.
