There is a long history, both positive and negative, about gifted education and the growth mindset. This presentation will focus on clarifying both grit and the growth mindset and connecting them to the gifted brain and gifted education. There are aspects of these approaches that can be very helpful for gifted learners, such as identifying problems and accepting them as a part of a learning process. There are also aspects that can be left behind, especially if they do not fit the gifted individual.
